Current mood: besotted and rhapsodic.

I was reflecting today, as I was up to my coccyx in mud, on how nice it is to be in love again.
Here are some of the things that make life worth the effort again. In no particular order:

A car passenger.
Perfume on my collar.
Kisses.
Being able to say good morning face to face as she wakes up.
Love notes left in pockets.
Cell phone overage. (Not really, we're IN.)
Holding hands.
Hearing "I love you" from a non-family member or crazy person.
Excitement from ordinary things like grocery shopping.
Cuddling.
Being threatened with a punch to the face. (Don't ask, it's cute.)

Finding love is like adding a second window in the cell you spend your life in. It allows you another view of the world, it gives you just that much more freedom and makes you feel like there's more to life than what you've known all along. Jenny is my floor-to-ceiling bay window that looks out over everything I never knew I had. Things like strength, trust, innocence and worth. Sounds sappy, right? Well get bent. It's my romance and I can sugar it all up if I want to. She's the best.

For example, when I'm having a particularly ass-tastic day at work, she gives me the perfect blend of "I hope your day gets better" and "Grow some nuts, Nurse Justin." that actually makes me feel better. I never knew there was such a steady medium between co-dependence and independence, like she doesn't need me to be complete but wants me around anyway. It doesn't swing like... other people I've known.

Here's another list; things that make her great.

She trusts me.
She's always herself with me.
She lets me be myself with her.
She gets me on all levels.
She's affectionate without being clingy.
She's independent enough without being uncaring.
She's intelligent and wise.
She's funny in all the right ways.
She's genuinely kind and honest.
She's giving and open.
She's open-minded and accepting.
She's a great kisser.
She has good taste in music, books and film.
She likes pirates way too much.
She considers us equals.
She thinks I'm hot.
She has high self esteem without being self centered.
She appreciates my attempts at being charming and suave. (I'm working on it.)
She is quickly becoming my better half and she makes me feel like I wasn't holding out in vain.

Now that I've got that lonely thing taken care of I need a new aspect of life to lament so I don't go all soft. I mean what fun is life if you can't bitch and moan about it? Eh?
