To answer cobyhoff's question, as long as they keep making titles to popular books, films and songs that have one syllable words in them that I can exploit.
Onto the topic: I had a very interesting conversation with a group of friends tonight at the greasy spoon about life, death, god and the meaning of it all. I can't possible go into all the different ideas here but let's just say I gained +1 exp in philosophy and thought. I've had the same conversation about 100 times before but it always goes a different way depending on who I'm talking with. It was good stuff. You should have been there.
Now I'm sitting here at my desk, in my chilly house, broke as a joke with no food to eat but I feel somehow peaceful, talking about things that are infinatly bigger than not only my life, but the whole span of human existance makes the fact that I'm broke for 3 more days and I live in a crap heap seem less depressing. Especially when I think that 6 more days marks the peak, the summit, the beginning of the decent. It will be my 6 month mark in this wretched little dump and begins the 6 month countdown until I can safely leave with a padded resúme. Here's a few choice Lakeview paradoxes for you to enjoy.
1. You can't get a job unless you own or rent property in town, you're seen as a flight risk. However, if you have no job, you cannot own or rent property in town.
2. If you are not a flight risk, ie, owning or renting property in town (see paradox #1) then you may have a job, which will pay you money. However, if you are a flight risk, you may not have a job, so you can have no money to leave. SO you are not a flight risk after all.
3. If you are the friend or relative of an employer or an employee you recieve first pick of jobs in town, even though the jobs are listed in the paper and have multiple qualified applicants. However, if you do not meet the criterion listed above, you can not have friends that are employees or employers as you are not from town and are a flight risk.
This is why many of my friends are unable to find work in this hell hole. Everyjob that is listed is applied for, but either the job is already being given to a friend or you're passed over since they don't know you and you're not from here. Seriously, the best qualification you can have to get a job in town is to be a teenage girl who was born here and who's parents go to church with the employer. Must...get...out.
